A small band of Irish monks begin to hold the traditional Latin Mass, which was against the new doctrine put forth by the Vatican council. Concerned with the rebellious nature of this action, the Vatican dispatches a priest to investigate the monks' actions and to bring them back in compliance with their wishes. Upon arriving, the priest begins to see what the true meaning is behind this dispute in doctrine and begins to wonder about his own beliefs.
